I've been on the bike because the the body is ready and willing. But first you must clear out the webs and get the bike ready. After the much needed honeymoon I've been focused on spinning the wheels and building a base on the bike.
I've noticed that my rides are smoother and much longer in the early part of this season compared to the seasons past. I credit the fact that I was on snow for a good three and a half months and am entering this bike season in pretty good shape. My legs are stronger and I'm focused on the races ahead.
Last week put in nine hours on the bike which included the first Tuesday night ride of the season. The body is getting used to the saddle time and hopefully by the Durand Road Race I'm able to feel strong and confident.
This week I hit a couple of things put a damper on my training. I had to serve on jury duty for the first time and wouldn't you know it I got picked for what was supposed to be a two day trial that ended up being three days. It was interesting and educational and yet I don't want to do it again. If you are curious just go here. And the rain/snow/sleet/freeing rain/30 degree weather is not helping. Oh well you roll with what is dealt.
