Ahhh yes.

Tune up and iron out.

Pole plant, glide, reload. Pole plant, glide, reload. Balance, base and enjoyment are what I search for these days. The snow has lost its freshness and the excitement of being on the first snow has faded. Minutes are hammered out and Ks are counted up.

When I'm out on the trail I sometimes have to remind myself that its only the middle of December and I don't necessarily have to bust my balls in readying my body for the Birkie. It's a pleasant feeling knowing I can work on my cardio base, my balance, and technique. I'm always trying to find ways to mix it up with the training hoping to keep my body fresh and the enjoyment level up.

Kudos to my bro (nice pic) for making it through college! The Sturgie combo represented well at Eau Claire, eleven and a half years is not all that bad! One more UWEC alum!

And sometimes life can be strange...

I hope it is finding you greatful!

Conundrum

co·nun·drum noun 1. A difficult problem 2. Anything that puzzles. Being on snow on the 3rd of December puzzles. Being on snow, with your race skis, is a freak of nature. It has been a long time coming for us to be on snow during the first part of December and not on your roller skis.

Lifting, running, hiking, and roller skiing has been the name of the game over the past four weeks. I'm getting used to lifting with the roid raged gentlemen at Gold's and now I'm glad that I can put away my trail running shoes.

I don't have an excuse now for not being ready for the Birkie. The snow is here, the roller skis are put away and now the hard work begins. Two weeks till race time. The Preseason Physical race in the cities will be a good judge for how my conditioning is and what I have to do.

First Christmas tree together! Highly recommend the Fraser Fur
