Hey hun...V1 or V2

So the Birkie is done! And wouldn't you know, the day after the Birkie not only does Hayward get pounded with a storm, but so does Eau Claire. I left last Wednesday for Hayward thinking that with the 50 degree weather I was going to come back home on Sunday, build up my new MTB and head out on the roads for some long rides. Man was I wrong.

But I'm still thankful for snow...even as I write this we are on the verge of getting dumped on again. After the Birkie is a time when I can get out on the skis and enjoy the trails a little bit more. The days last longer, the temps are warmer, and the skiing is a little more relaxing.

Last night Nikole and I got out on a pretty sweet hour + ski. I arrived early and was able to ski for about an hour before she arrived. It was a blessing to be on the trails with her, hopefully helping her to enjoy cross country skiing a little bit more. After working on our V1 and V2 techniques (trust me, V1 & V2 are just big words for us skiers) we found ourselves enjoying the evening under the lights and the 32 degree weather.

4-5 inches of base!

I guess I will have to keep out the bike trainer and the skies after all.

Ski on!
